PUBLIC OPEN SPACE & THE ENVIRONMENT

The proposals allow for high quality community space interspersed between buildings to create a village atmosphere and sense of community.

The parcel of land to the south of the metrobus route is protected by Town and Village Green (TVG) status, this land will remain public open space.

As part of our ongoing commitment to our community and our Bristol Sport Foundation ethos of promoting healthier, more active lives, we hope to enhance this space (within TVG rules) to make it a true asset for the community and its wildlife.

We would like to take this opportunity to ask what you would like to see this land used for?

Please get in touch (see above) or our comments section below.

Some of the suggestions so far are:

A common space for dog walking and exercise

Exercise park with natural trails

Wildlife & wetlands habitat for bird watching

The development will capture a biodiversity net gain, has increased protection for habitats and fauna as well as improved connections for pedestrians and cyclists.

The southern field will not be built on – instead we will work with local wildlife organisations and residents to enhance this space for the benefit of wildlife and the community.

If you have any suggestions or comments please email hello@ashtongate.co.uk

We will of course keep you informed of ideas and suggestions as we move forward on the project.
